Ecole Communautaire St. Marc
Originally a four-hour trek for children of the community to the small town of Lascahobas in the Central Plateau, the school in the community of Cabestor reaches kids that would otherwise be out of reach. Along the same road as the other Summits schools of Dalles, Loncy, Morene and Roche La Pierre, Cabestor is a school built by our partners, Digicel. Even when sugarcane and millet suffered from a season of disease, the community banned together and fished in the nearby Lake Pèligre to sell in the market so that the students may afford materials and uniforms for the school year. With an incredible kindness, community members will welcome you with a cup of coffee and a fresh coconut.
