Ecole Bénoit Batraville
Morène is close to the border. With GARR being nearby, an organization that helps displaced Haitians who have been deported from the Dominican Republic adjust, there are some students who are transitioning back to Haiti or have family members directly affected by border issues. This school helps children who can’t make it into the bigger town of Lascahobas. Before it was incorporated into the Summits network the teachers worked without pay and waited for when the mayor could provide them with some salaries. The school in community stands with the effort of a community.
